Gayle leads hawks to dual meet win over Coppin State

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore cross country program hosted Coppin State University in a dual meet Thursday afternoon.

Junior Rihanna Gayle led the UMES women with a first-place finish in the 4K, while freshman Khetarah Johnson placed second. Gayle finished with a time of 18:36.6, followed by Johnson in 19:11.7.

The Hawks earned a team score of 22 points to defeat Coppin State, which finished with 33 points.
