Â
QUOTES FROM UMES HEAD COACH CLEO HILL, JR
Â
"I thought Coppin State played very well. They had the energy being at home and jumped ahead early. I do think we did a good job of maintaining our composure and battling back. I thought we had some good contributions from a variety of guys but we did not execute down the stretch in overtime."
Â
"We had some foul trouble tonight but I think we are deep enough to manage these types of games. We have quite a few guys who can play different positions. We actually had some good minutes from our smaller lineup of
Jaden Cooper,
Michael Teal and
Justin Monden at the guard positions with
Zion Obanla and
Dorion Staples upfront."
Â
"There are a couple of positives we take away from tonight. First and foremost, I am proud of the way we fought back. I also thought we did a good job of switching on defense and communicating.
Maurice Vassel gave us some good minutes and we were able to get
Levi Beckwith some minutes after he missed the previous five games."
Â
"We look forward to getting back to playing at home next weekend in the Hytche Center. We get to play infront of the students and fans and we look forward to their support against South Carolina State. We will review the film from the first time we played and reiterate some of the positives things we did tonight to prepare for the next game."
