HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
After a scoreless first inning from Richard De Jesus, the Sharks took the lead with a two-run second inning.Â
The third, fourth, and fifth innings were a pitcher's duel, where neither team was able to score. Although the Hawks loaded the bases after a hit from Champion Shipley in the bottom of the fifth, LIU retired the side with the go-ahead run on the base path.
Leading 2-0, the Sharks, spurred on by retiring the side with the bases loaded, rattled off nine runs in the sixth inning and one run in the seventh inning en route to a 12-0 shutout victory.

The Hawks totaled no runs on four hits and zero errors while the Sharks amassed 12 runs on nine hits and no errors
Shipley went 1-for-2, recording his first collegiate base hit
