Shaquille (Shaq) Bagwell wrapped up his second season the Lady Hawks softball assistant coach. Bagwell serves as a hitting and fielding coach for UMES. In his first season, Bagwell made an impact as he helped the Lady Hawks batting average improved from the previous season. Since his arrival, Bagwell has coached two UMES student-athletes toMid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) All-Conference honors.

Bagwell is no stranger to UMES as he was a four-year letterman in baseball. In his collegiate career, Bagwell averaged .240 while generating 97 hits and 32 RBIs in 149 games played (122 started). In his sophomore season (2010), Bagwell had a career season, posting a .314 batting average in 36 games (31 started).

In 2012, Bagwell earned his degree from UMES and currently resides in Princess Anne, Md.
