Another first place finish came from the men's distance medley team who took first place by more than five seconds over Hampton University. Drummond, Tomlinson, Togom, and Daniel Payne ran on that team.

The Lady Hawks saw Kori Barrett and Evelyn Mendoza take seventh and eight in the 800-meter run with time of 2:22.76 and 2:23.17 respectively. Anya Clark was 14 with a time of 2:31.19. In the pole vault the UMES women took second through fifth place with Clark, Eboni Reavis, Candace Ringgold and Chantelle Ringgold finishing in that order. Kelly Ann Lue took eighth place in the long jump with a distance of 5.57 meters. Tiwana Smith took tenth in the shot put after throwing 10.31 meters. UMES also had a strong team showing in the distance medley taking second place with a time of 12:54.73. That team was made up of Mendoza, Alyssa Walker, Barrett, and Centruy.

"It was an exciting meet," Head Coach Ernest Barrett said. "The women shot putters did well and the men were impressive. The races that [Drummond, Togom, and Tomlinson] were in were very close and fun to watch. I am proud of the effort of the entire team. Now we begin to prepare for the outdoor season," he continued.

The Hawks have wrapped up their indoor season but will open their outdoor schedule on March 21 at the Hampton Relays in Hampton, VA.
