The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Lady Hawks won their second straight home game against the North Carolina A& T Lady Aggies on Saturday by a score of 83-49.
The Lady Hawks allowed the Lady Aggies to score only 21 points in the second half, while they almost doubled their score with 41points.
Octavia Thompson led the Lady Hawks with 16 points, while Erica Bennett added 13 points and Tiffany Winkfield pitched in with her 12 points, to seal their 34-point victory over the Lady Aggies.
Within the first ten minutes of the second half the Lady Hawks went on a 22-5 run, and never looked back.
Tia Richardson led the Lady Aggies with 17 points with seven rebounds, while Camille Akins helped her by adding 12 points. With only six players in uniform, the Lady Aggies fought a hard battle, but came up short.
"It was a great win tonight," said Head Coach Surina Dixon. "We played well and got another big MEAC victory, now we have to prepare for South Carolina State, that is a must win for us to move up in the conference," she added.
The Lady Hawks will be in action again on Monday February 16, 2004 at 5:30pm, at the Hytche Center, where they will take on the aforementioned Lady Bulldogs from South Carolina State.
