UMES MEN AND WOMEN'S BASKETBALL ANNOUNCE 2004-2005 SCHEDULES

Aug. 16, 2004

Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Men and Women's Hoopsters have announced their schedules for the upcoming season. The Fighting and Lady Hawks are both under the direction of new Head Coaches in Larry Lessett and Fred Batchelor respectively. The schedules feature the usual MEAC cast of characters as well as local match-ups with UMBC for the men and Towson and American for the Lady Hawks. The women's schedule features two tournaments. The first will be a homecoming of sorts for two Lady Hawk freshman as UMES travels to Michigan to compete in the Eastern Michigan Tournament against Louisiana-Lafayette and the host Eagles. They also head to Brooklyn, NY where they compete in the Long Island University Tournament. Other away contests include Bucknell and Temple.

Jareem Dowling is looking to make his senior year a memorable one.

The Fighting Hawks will open their season on the west coast traveling to Fresno State and will travel after the Christmas Holiday back to the west for a return game with Portland State. One week long swing into the south features Nicholls State in Louisiana and a trip deep in the heart of Texas to take on Texas Christian and Baylor. The men also travel to new ACC power Virginia Tech and host the Brown University Bears in Princess Anne. Both the Fighting and Lady Hawks will play one exhibition game, the men against Elizabeth City State and the women against Wilmington College.
