DAYTONA BEACH, FLA. - The Bethune-Cookman (BCC) Lady Wildcats outscored the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) women's basketball team 9-1 in the final two minutes of play and upset the Lady Hawks, 47-46 in a MEAC decision Monday night at the Ocean Center.
Bethune-Cookman (4-22, 2-13 MEAC), who ended a 12-game losing steak with the win, whittled down a seven-point Hawk lead with 2:32 left. Tristan McCray's jumper at 49 seconds cut the UMES advantage down to one before Danielle Cooper hit a free-throw to put the maroon and gray up by two.
