PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Senior men's basketball forward Mike Myers (Camden, N.J.) and senior women's basketball guard Moengaroa Subritzky (Auckland, New Zealand) were named the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Peninsula Regional Medical Center Athletes of the Week for the week ending on December 29^th. Myers is being named for the third time while Subritzky is being named for the first time.

Myers started off strong with 19 points and seven rebounds in the 82-80 nail biting victory against St. Bonaventure on Tuesday. Those 19 points came from a 7-for-12 shooting performance and five free throws despite playing just 21 minutes and fouling out of the game. Myers' effort in the 78-69 win over Duquesne was even better as he tallied his first double-double as a Hawk, registering 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Subritzky shined against UMBC on December 22^nd with a spectatular all around performance. She went 4-for-5 from the floor including 2-of-3 from three point range to score 10 points while also earning a double-double with 10 assists. With eight rebounds she fell just two boards shy of a triple-double. Subritzky also contributed four blocks and two steals while playing the full forty minutes.

Both athletes were honored by the MEAC for their successes on the court. Myers won Men's Basketball Player of the Week while Subritzky took home both Rookie of the Week and Defensive Player of the Week.

Subritzky and the women's team picked up a win over Monmouth on Tuesday afternoon and will take a two week break before playing Morgan State on January 12^th. Myers and the men's team face off with Tennessee-Martin Tuesday evening at 7:30 p.m. EST.
