2015 Lid-Lifter Schedule 
PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Looking to improve on their third and fifth place conference finishes from a year ago, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) indoor track teams will open their 2015-2016 schedule on their home track with the 2015 UMES Lid-Lifter. The meet begins this Saturday at 11:00a.m. in the William P. Hytche Athletic Center on campus.
Student-athletes from Delaware State, Morgan State, Coppin State, the University of the District of Columbia and Neumann will be competing, along with the hosts. Field events begin at 11a.m. with the weight throw and long jump and are expected to last until approximately three in the afternoon. The track portion of the Lid-Lifter will start at 12:30p.m. with the 60 meter hurdle and dash trials and will finish with relays beginning around 4:00.
The meet is free to attend. Those who can't make it can view live results, which will be made available on umeshawks.com prior to the start of the meet.
After their home meet, the teams will compete in six regular season meets and a conference championship over January and February.
A trip to Annapolis on January 8th for the Navy Invitational leads it off, followed by two separate journeys to Staten Island for the Great Dane Classic and the NYC Gotham Cup. The Great Dane Classic is currently scheduled for the 10th of January while the Gotham Cup will be run on the 22nd. 10:00a.m. start times are slated for both New York meets at the Ocean Breeze Park Track & Field Complex.
The Wesley Brown Invitational in Annapolis wraps up month of January, and February begins with a trek to Boston for the Scarlett and White Invitational on the 6th, which will be the last regular season meet before the conference championships.
Once again, the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Indoor Track Championships will take place at the Prince George's County Sports and Learning Complex in Landover, Maryland. The three-day event begins February 11th.
Following the conference championships, those Hawks looking to advance onto postseason competition will get a chance to qualify or improve on their rankings at the Boston University Last Chance on February 28th. Those who make the cut will compete at either the IC4A/ECAC Championships March 4th-6th in Boston, and outstanding performers may advance to the NCAA Indoor Championships in Birmingham, Ala. March 11th and 12th.
