PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Looking to head into 2016 on a high note, the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) bowling team will make the drive up Route 13 to Middletown, Del. for the second of three Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Northern Division Tournaments this season. The two day tournament will be hosted by Delaware State University.

Saturday's events begin at 12:20p.m. when pairings will be announced. Traditional matches begin at 12:55 with four rounds for the day. Competition on day one is expected to finish around 6:00p.m. and will immediately be followed by a senior recognition. Baker matches will take place Sunday beginning at 8:55a.m. with five games per round over four rounds.

UMES currently stands in second place in the MEAC North after going 6-2 in the first tournament back in November. The Hawks went undefeated in traditional play but struggled in the Baker rounds, losing to Delaware State and Morgan State. The hosting Hornets went 7-1 during that weekend earning first place in the division heading into this weekend.

However, the Hawks are coming off a nice weekend at their own tournament two weeks ago. A third place finish and a 12-3 mark for the weekend should help provide momentum going into this weekend.

A full recap for the weekend will be published Sunday.
