PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — On Friday (May 25), the University of Maryland Eastern Shore held its annual spring commencement. Among the students receiving degrees were 23 student-athletes.

"The Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is very proud of our graduating student-athletes." said Director of Athletics Keith Davidson. "We have a tremendous track record of having our athletes receiving degrees, and these Hawks are proof of that tradition."

The 23 athletes come from nine teams, with baseball sending nine members from their team to the stage Friday.

Prior to commencement, the Hawks were invited to a Breakfast of Champions on Thursday (May 24). During the event, school president Dr. Juliette B. Bell presented them with special student-athlete sashes that were worn at the commencement.

*Copey also competed in tennis for her senior year
