PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball team begins a seven game home stand at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium this weekend. Coming into Salisbury will be the Norfolk State Spartans in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matchup. Games are Friday (March 22) at 3 p.m., Saturday (March 23) at 2 p.m. and Sunday (March 24) at 1 p.m..
Tickets cost $6 per day and be purchased online or at the door. Live stats and live video are available and Drew Williams will broadcast on Saturday and Sunday.
The Hawks are hoping for a reversal of fortune. They went winless on their road trip and are currently on an eight game losing streak. That includes an 0-3 start in the MEAC after being swept by Coppin State.
Meanwhile, the Spartans opened conference play with a sweep of Delaware State to tie Coppin for first. The visitors are on a seven game winning streak after starting the season 0-10.
In nine meetings last season, Norfolk State won seven of them. Avery Tunnell (Dover, Delaware) helped the Hawks walk off against the Spartans on March 25th and the Hawks won 8-2 in Norfolk on April 15th.
After the Spartans pass through, The Shore will host Mount St. Mary's for a doubleheader March 27th and Delaware State for a three game MEAC series March 29-31.
