PRATTVILLE, ALABAMA - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's golf team finished fourth in the ASU Spring Classic hosted by Alabama State University on February 23 – 24 at Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Capitol Hill – Senator Course.
This was the team's second tournament of the spring season and sixth tournament of the 2019-20 season.
The weather was ideal throughout the week, despite heavy rain and flooding in the area during the week prior. Sophomore
Briahna Willis (Little Rock, Arkansas) got off to a hot start posting back-to-back 77's over the first two rounds, followed up by an 82 during her third round to finish in a tie for eighth 77+77+82=236 (+20) out of 23 players in field.
Junior
Morgan Miner (Fort Washington, Maryland) had an up-and-down week, struggling slightly during the first round of competition but improved during the second round shooting 89+86+92=267 (+51) to finish in 17
th. Following just behind her teammate on the leaderboard was junior
Sumayah Arcusa (Bowie, Maryland). She had a rough start over the first two rounds but recovered during the third concluding the tournament in 18
th place 91+93+84=268 (+52).
Freshman
Sheridan Graves (Detroit, Michigan) finished in a tie for 19
th. Sophomore
Nyla Sims (West Palm Beach, Florida) placed in 21
st.
The women's team will tee it up next in Daytona Beach, Florida at the Lady Wildcat Invitational – March 12-13.
