UMES freshman Bushra Fatima with a top five finish in Ohio
BOARDMAN, Ohio - In the second fall golf tournament of the season, University of Maryland Eastern Shore freshman
Bushra Fatima led the Hawks with a fifth place finish in individual competition during this week's Roaseann Schwartz Invitational.
In the 36-hole event hosted by Youngstown State University, Fatima opened the tournament with an even par round of 72 on Sunday. She shot a 77 in Monday's final 18 holes to finish five over par for the tournament and in a tie for fifth place in individual play.
Sophomore
Charlene Pak had rounds of 83 and 81 for a two-day total of 164.
Pearl Omaruaye carded rounds of 8- and 87 for a total of 167.
Tinyan Liu finished with scores of 86 and 82 which combined for a total of 168.
Alysa Davis shot rounds of 82 and 88 to finish with a 170 total.
Sydney Raines, who competed as an individual, recorded rounds of 87 and 86 for a total of 173.
As a team, UMES combined for rounds of 317 and 327 for a team total of 644 and a sixth place finish.Â
UMES will be be back in competition at the Mercyhurst University Invitational in North East, Pennsylvania on October 5.
