SMYRNA, Tennessee — The University of Maryland Eastern Shore went 3-1 on Day 2 of the Music City Classic to head into bracket play in sixth place.

Chloe Skurzynski (Carlisle, Pennsylvania) finished in 12^th place in Traditional play overall with a five-game average of 208.60. She had a strike rate of 50%, filled 86% of her frames and converted all 13 of her single-pin spares.

Senior Brigitte Jacobs (Freeport, Illinois) averaged 206.50 over four games, with a 92% strike rate and converted all 16 of her single-pin spares.

Sophomore Isabel Hughes (Raleigh, North Carolina) had a four-game average of 204.75, a 50% strike percentage and a 90% fill rate.
Freshman Morgan Cooper (Gloucester Point, Virginia) averaged a 207.67 over three games with a 50% strike rate and a, 87% fill rate.

"Chloe, Brigitte, Morgan, and Isabel were great for us today," Hawks coach Kayla Bandy said. "They were consistent all day."

The Hawks topped Aurora (992-804) to begin the day, then topped University of Alabama-Birmingham 893-851, before topping No. 7 Stephen F. Austin 1,041-956.

Eastern Shore then bowled a strong bye before dropping a tough loss to Nebraska 1020-988.

"We gave it a good fight to make a run at the top four but came up a little short," Bandy said. "Along the way though, we won some matches which is important. We scored well today and we want to build on that tomorrow. The ladies are throwing it great and working together really well.  Tomorrow we can win our matches and advance up the bracket to third place, that's the plan.

"This evening we took some time to celebrate Alejandra (Amezcua's) Birthday that is tomorrow. It was a relaxing time after bowling all day."
