PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — Former University of Maryland Eastern Shore bowling head coach Sharon Brummell is on the ballot for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference's 50th Anniversary All-Time Legends in Coaching.
Brummell had a 14-year career as the Hawks' head bowling coach from 1998-2012. She became the first African-American and woman to win a women's bowling national championship. Her 2008 championship squad was also the first women's NCAA Division I title in any sport for an HBCU program. The two-time National Coach of the Year led The Shore to two additional NCAA national championships in 2011 and 2012.
