Hawks back at it versus Morgan at home Monday

Eastern Shore looking for second MEAC win

PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland — Shortly after Saturday's difficult loss at Coppin State, University of Maryland Eastern Shore coach Fred Batchelor turned his attention to the Hawks' Monday (Jan. 31) opponent — Morgan State.

""We need to work, get back at it." Batchelor said. "We'll watch some film and we need something good to happen. We make a couple shots to start the game and things are different. You go out and you miss shots and they make them. Momentum is huge and we have to find some positive momentum and roll with it and I think that can turn things around for us."

Eastern Shore (5-11. 1-3) was forced to stay in Baltimore overnight Saturday because of concern for the road conditions getting back to campus. After an early trip back to Princess Anne on Sunday, the Hawks were back on the practice court to get ready for the Bears.

Morgan State (7-6, 1-2 MEAC) saw its Saturday matchup with Delaware State postponed until Feb. 16 because the Hornets couldn't make it to Morgan for the matchup.

Dahyne Redd leads the Bears in scoring with 11.8 points and rebounding with 5.6 per game. The 2020-21 First-Team All-MEAC selection finished fifth in the MEAC in scoring and seventh in the rebounding last season.

"They are a talented team and they have a really good player (Redd)," Batchelor said. "We have some work to do. And we have our hands full."
