PRINCESS ANNE, MD – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore's 2024 fall ball schedule includes three matches in the DMV area, two trips to Pennsylvania, and doubleheaders to start and end the season, head coach
Aaron Robinson announced.
The Maroon and Gray opened the fall slate with their first official practice on Sept. 3 and held a scrimmage on Sept. 20. The team will face George Washington University in a doubleheader on Sept. 22 for their first match of the fall season.
UMES will return to Maryland to play the University of Maryland, Baltimore County on Sept. 28 and Bowie State on Sept. 29. To close the fall season, the Hawks will travel to Pennsylvania to face Lincoln University on Oct. 6 and Thomas Jefferson University in a doubleheader on Oct. 12.
Returning for the fall season are four core upperclassmen: seniors
McKenzie Abiley (SS) and
Nola Mountain (2B), and juniors
Jaycee Holt (OF) and
Paige Perkins (C).
The team also welcomes 15 newcomers this fall, including 10 freshmen and five transfers. The freshmen are

Makalah Clark (OF),
Araceli Manzo (1B),
Kassidy Oneail (P),
Lola Meyer (3B),
Jumaria Sample (CF),

Emily Gunther (P),
DeNae Ojeda (CF),
Takiah Landes (OF), and sophomore
Paris Richards (P).
The UMES softball team went 11-35 during the 2024 season. Robinson begins his second season with the program, which also welcomes Janelle Higgins as an assistant coach. Higgins, previously the head coach at North Platte Community College, brings a distinguished record, including Region IX Division II championships in 2012, 2015, 2017, and 2021, as well as Coach of the Year honors each year.
