(Seahawks Win Series 2-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
Contrary to game one of the series, Wagner opened the scoring in game two with a two-run first inning. Maryland Eastern Shore responded with one run a piece in the second, third, and fourth innings. First, Ryan Davis drove in Julian Jimenez on an RBI single to left field to get the Hawks on the board. An inning later, Diego Aponte uncorked an opposite field double to left field to drive in Ansel Carson, tying up the game. Finally, in the fourth frame, Carson singled up the middle to drive in Ryan Howe to give UMES their first lead of the game.
After Wagner tied the game in the bottom of the fourth inning, Aponte once again delivered a big hit for the Maroon and Grey. The junior first baseman hooked an RBI single to left field to drive in Carson for the go-ahead score. Unfortunately for UMES, Wagner usurped momentum of the game in the seventh inning, scoring the final three runs to edge out the Hawks, 8-5.Â
