(Wagner Sweeps the Series 3-0)
HOW IT HAPPENED
On a warm, sunny evening in Staten Island, Maryland Eastern Shore struggled to get any offense going against Wagner. The Hawks best scoring opportunity came in the top of the fifth inning. Ryan Howe began the frame by lacing a lead off single to right center field. Ryan Davis followed up that plate appearance with a sacrifice bunt to push Howe into scoring position at second base. Unfortunately for the Hawks, the next two batters were retired by Wagner's pitching staff, neutralizing the lone scoring opportunity. With the Seahawks up by five runs, Wagner plated five runs in the seventh inning to ice the victory in run-rule fashion.Â
