NORFOLK, Virginia — With the bowling season around the corner, University of Maryland Eastern Shore senior

Santos Rivero bowled 836 frames for the Hawks last year with a 19.81 average per frame. She also posted an 84.7% over-all-fill (strikes and spares) and a 46.7% on strikes. As a junior, she also maintained a 71.2% all spare conversion and a 89.3% single pin spare conversion. She earned second team all-conference honors last year for the second straight year.
As a program, the Hawks have been predicted to finish second in the MEAC in the preseason vote by the league's head coaches and sports information directors. UMES finished 62-40 last year and 13-4 in MEAC play and earned the No. 2 seed in the MEACÂ tournament while finishing third in the tournament.
North Carolina A&T State sophomore Victorya White has been named the 2025–26 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Preseason Bowler of the Year, as the Aggies were selected as preseason favorites to capture the conference title. The preseason team and predicted order of finish were determined by a vote of the league's head bowling coaches and sports information directors.
White earned the preseason Player of the Year honor and a First-Team selection following a breakout freshman campaign that established her as one of the nation's top young talents. Last season, she was named MEAC Rookie of the Year, selected to the NTCA All-Rookie Team, and earned NTCA Third-Team All-America recognition. She ranked among the top 15 nationally in five statistical categories, including 11th in strike percentage (53.2%) and 14th in player composite performance index (PCPI).
North Carolina A&T captured its ninth MEAC Championship last season with a tournament victory over the University of Alabama-Birmingham, 4-1. The #8 Aggies earned the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament, competing in the Rochester Regional. A&T pushed top-seeded Youngstown State to the brink in a winner-take-all Baker format before falling 4-0. The Aggies closed the 2024–25 NCAA season with an impressive 87–38 overall record and a 12–2 conference mark.
In the MEAC preseason poll, the Aggies earned 12 first-place votes and 110 points, claiming the top spot. Maryland Eastern Shore finished second with 101 points (1 first-place vote), followed by Delaware State (83 points) and University of Alabama Birmingham (78 points, 2 first-place votes). Morgan State (64), Howard (41), Coppin State (34), and Norfolk State (23) rounded out the poll.
Joining White on the Preseason All-MEAC Team are teammate Jasmine Hall (N.C. A&T), along with
Mariana Santos Rivero (Maryland E. Shore), Madison Colston (UAB), Cameren Smith (Howard), and Madelynn Oliva (UAB), with Smith and Oliva tying in the voting to earn the honors.
