HOW IT HAPPENED
Stonehill scored in the opening inning to take a 1-0 lead. After back-to-back scoreless innings from UMES starting pitcher Richard De Jesus and the Skyhawk's starting pitcher, Stonehill scored twice in the fourth to expand their advantage to three runs.
The Skyhawks tallied one run in the fifth and two additional scores in the seventh frame en route to a shut out victory.
THE NUMBERS
The Hawks scored no runs on five hits and no errors while Stonehill amassed six runs on eight hits and no errors.
De Jesus recorded a season-high seven innings pitched. This marks the most innings that any UMES starter or reliever has gone on the mound this season.
