Hawks finish fourth in NEC Championships; record best finish in program history
ELLICOT CITY, Maryland | The University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's golf team set a new program mark by finishing fourth at the Northeast Conference Championships over the weekend. The fourth place finish marks the highest placement for the Hawks since joining the NEC.
The Hawks recorded team scores of 324, 314 and 333 for a tournament total of 971. The fourth place finish is the best result for the program since UMES began competing in the NEC.
Freshman
Bushra Fatima led the Hawks with rounds of 81, 74 and 84 for a total of 239 and a 13th place finish. Sophomore
Charlene Pak finished in 20th place with a total of 242 after scores of 79, 82 and 81.
Alysa Davis recorded rounds of 87 and back-to-back 80s for a final count of 247 and a tie for 31st.
Pearl Omaruaye finished in a tie for 36th with a total of 252 which included a second round score of 78.
Tinyan Liu also finished in 36th place with a 252 which included a first round score of 78.

With the weekend's top four result, UMES remains in contention to earn on invitation to the PGA Collegiate Works Championships in Florida. The field is expected to be announced later this week.
