Princess Anne, MD - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Lady Hawks Tennis Team hosted their Eastern Shore rival, the Delaware State University (DSU) Lady Hornets, in a conference match this past weekend. DSU got the better of the Hawks taking the match 6-1.
Despite the loss UMES saw solid play from Victoria B. Wilson who won her singles and doubles matches, partnering with Reva Campbell in the latter. Campbell had a solid singles outing, falling 6-3, 6-0.
Vicky White and Janelle Brown-Niles also had solid outings as the doubles team fell 8-2. Brown-Niles also pushed her opponent, Carlene Young, to the brink before falling 7-5, 6-1.
The Lady Hawks return to the court in three days when they travel to Towson in a non-conference match.
