CSU DOWNS LADY HAWKS IN TENNIS SEASON FINALE

BALTIMORE, MD The Coppin State women's tennis team defeated UMES, 6-1 on April 13 in the Lady Hawks' season finale.

UMES finishes the season 0-14 overall and 0-11 in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).

Sashonna Leak won the only match of the day for the Lady Hawks when she took down CSU's Amatul Bean, 9-8 7-4 in the number six singles spot.

Yamada Dorsey lost a close 8-6 contest to Gabrielle Spence in the number five singles match while Haaveshe Sawyer fell 6-1, 6-3 in the three spot to Kyana Beckles.

Mary Anne Dogo earned a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Fatoumata Ba in the three slot while Aissatou Ba dropped a 6-1, 6-1 contest to Stephanie Floyd in the two spot. Andreea Apostu defeated Nadia Flores-Hernandez 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles.

Flores and A. Ba fell 8-2 in the number one doubles spot to Apostu and Beckles while Sawyer and Leak dropped the two slot to Spece and Floyd, 8-1. Dogo and Bean took down the duo of F. Ba and Dorsey in the No. 3 doubles, 8-1.
