HAWKS ARE UPENDED 5-0 BY WAGNER COLLEGE SEAHAWKS

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Women's Tennis team dropped to 0-10 on the season and gave the Wagner College (1-5) Seahawks their first win of the year as they fell by a score of 5-0.

At No. 1 singles, sophomore Brittany Frazza won easily 8-3 over Nadia Flores Hernandez. Junior Aarti Mahtani defeated Fatoumata Ba by the slimmest of margins 9-8 at second singles. At No. 3, classmate Marie Crane had no problem cruising to the 8-2 win over Haaveshe Sawyer. Sophomore Emily Boyd defeated Bolanle Abioye 8-3 at No. 4 singles. Freshman Valerie LeCureux wrapped up the team's stellar performance with a 8-0 shutout win over Tonaio Swangin at No. 5 singles.

Both teams defaulted at No. 6 singles.

There were no doubles matches due to the weather conditions and all singles-matches were scored as pro-sets.
