PRINCETON, N.J. -- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore is set to compete in the Eastern College Athletic Conference and Intercollegiate Association of Amateur Athletes of America Outdoor Track Championships in Princeton.
UMES athletes will compete against some of the strongest competition from the northeast and mid-Atlantic parts of the country. The men will compete in the ECAC while the women will be in the IC4A.
The Hawks kicked off their part of the competition in the 3000-meter steeplechase, where UMES's winner in this event in the MEAC Championship Mustapha Habbani (Berkane, Morocco) finished in 9:37.07, getting 24th place.
Saturday's events will see the beginning of field competition as well as the track preliminaries in individual and relay runs. The final day of the championships, on Sunday, will consist of the finals of the track runs plus the second day of field competition.
