MCMILLAN, MCKENZIE WIN THREE GAMES AGAINST NORFOLK STATE

PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - Senior Solana McMillan (Teaneck, N.J.) and junior Shamara McKenzie (Neptune, N.J.) won three games in No. 1 doubles to pace the University of Maryland Eastern Shore women's tennis team in its loss at Norfolk State. The matchup against NSU saw the men's and women's team drop four matches, with each team dropping 7-0 decisions to open the day. The women concluded play against the Spartans with a 4-0 loss, while the men lost 5-0.

In the first match for the women (0-8, 0-5 MEAC), McMillan notched two points at No. 1 singles after she lost 6-2, 6-0. The other four singles matches saw UMES lose by 6-0 decisions in each, before McMillan and McKenzie lost 8-3 in doubles. McMillan was the only Hawk to notch points in the second match, when she lost 6-2, 6-2. The double portion of the event was cancelled.

The men's team (0-9, 0-6) lost 6-0 matches in every singles event. The play did not get any better in doubles either, as 8-0 decision engulfed the statistics. The second match was much of the same results. A game was not won in any singles and doubles play was cancelled.
