LADY HAWKS SUFFER SETBACKS

BALTIMORE-- The University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) Women's Tennis Team was back in action as they traveled over the bridge to Baltimore to face the Coppin State Eagles in conference play. UMES fell short as they lost, 4-3. Later in the day, the Lady Hawks took on Norfolk State in a nonconference neutral site match. The squad fell to the Spartans, 6-0.

With both losses, Maryland Eastern Shore moved to 0-7 on the season.

Baltimore-native DaTonya Price picked up her second victory this season, defeating Coppin State's Gabrielle Otero (6-0, 6-1). Petra Jerabkova (Prague, Czech Republic) and Alese Brown (Charleston, S.C.) each tallied three points, but lost (6-1, 6-2), respectively.

Tomorrow, Maryland Eastern Shore will stay in Baltimore as they will take on Loyola (Md.). First-serve is scheduled for 1 p.m.
