Hawks Drop League Match At Howard

WASHINGTON, D.C. - In their final conference match, Coach Walter Woods and the University of Maryland Eastern Shore Women's Tennis team fell at Howard, 7-0.

With the setback, Eastern Shore dropped to 0-13 (0-6 MEAC) while the Bison improved to 2-8 (2-3 MEAC) on the season.

In singles competition, D.C. native Melequa King and junior DaTonya Price (Baltimore) each registered a point before falling in straight sets (6-1, 6-0), respectively.

In doubles play, senior Tearraney Peak (Charleston, S.C.) and newcomer Jayla Gilliam (Richmond, Va.) each scored a point before dropping their match to Howard's Kindha Nasef and Sajela Harlow, 6-1.

On April 18, the Hawks welcome Monmouth in their home finale. First-serve is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. at the Hawk Tennis Complex.
