PRINCESS ANNE, Maryland – The University of Maryland Eastern Shore baseball program is looking forward to new challenges on the schedule as it moves to the Northeast Conference for the 2023 season.
The Hawks kick the season off at an old Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference foe in North Carolina A&T the weekend of February 17
th, then take a quick trip to Washington D.C. at George Washington for a midweek. After the early road trips, the Hawks will have eleven straight home games, including hosting Lehigh and Manhattan for a weekend where the three teams will play a total of six games.
In the first taste of NEC action, the Hawks will host Central Connecticut State before the full slate that includes trips to Long Island University, Sacred Heart, Wagner and Stonehill. Also moving to the NEC were MEAC rivals Delaware State, Norfolk State and Coppin State – the Hawks will get the Spartans on the road but will host the Hornets and Eagles.
Not just looking for in-conference challenges, the Hawks also have the likes of George Mason, Quinnipiac, Mount St. Mary's, and UMBC on the agenda.
