SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Le Moyne Dolphins swept the Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks in a Friday afternoon doubleheader at Dick Rockwell Field.
GAME 1
SUMMARY
Homers from Darrius Brown and Christian Azcona are not enough for Hawks to overcome Dolphins in 6-2 loss in series opener.
THE SCORE

Le Moyne Dolphins (17-23, 17-11) - 6
HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
After three shutout innings from Esteban Torres, Darrius Brown homered over the left field fence to give UMES a 1-0 advantage in the fourth inning.
Le Moyne flipped the momentum of the game starting in the bottom of the fourth, scoring one run in the fourth, three runs in the fifth, and two runs in the eighth to build an insurmountable lead.
Although Christian Azcona tallied a solo homer in the ninth, the Dolphins held on to win, 6-2.
THE NUMBERS
The Hawks finished with two runs on seven hits and one error while the Dolphins tallied six runs on nine hits and an error.
Azcona recorded a team-high two hits, finishing 2-for-4 with a home run and an RBI.
Brown finished 1-for-3 with a home run and a walk. The junior outfielder is third on the team with four homers

SUMMARY
Le Moyne powered by UMES, 14-11, in a 26-hit slugfest to take game two of the series.

HOW IT HAPPENEDÂ
After Le Moyne opened the game with a first-inning home run, neither team scored again until Jonathan Gonzalez Perez crushed his 13th home run of the season in the fourth inning, giving UMES a 2-1 lead.Â
The Dolphins responded with three runs in the bottom of the fourth and top of the fifth to take the lead, 7-2.
Trailing by five, Jonathan Rodriguez's two-run single narrowed UMES' deficit to 7-4 in the sixth. The Dolphins then ballooned the lead with a six-run sixth inning to take a commanding lead.
Trailing 13-4, the Hawks outscored Le Moyne, 7-1, in the final three innings. Darrius Brown drove in the first run of the seventh inning on a fielder's choice before Christian Azcona and Rodriguez recorded consecutive RBI walks.Â
After Le Moyne added one run in the seventh, Brown drew another bases-loaded walk and Henry Clausell slashed a two-run single to get within four runs. Azcona then closed the eighth inning with a sacrifice fly.
Trailing 14-11, UMES' comeback effort came up short in the ninth as Le Moyne held on for a three-run victory.
THE NUMBERS
The Hawks finished with 11 runs on 11 hits and six errors while the Dolphins tallied 14 runs on 15 hits and one error
Gonzalez Perez finished 2-for-5 with two RBI and a home run. Gonzalez Perez eclipsed his 100th UMES hit, becoming the second player in the Danny Acosta era to hit that milestone.

Rodriguez recorded a team-high three RBI while Azcona, Clausell, Brown, and Gonzalez Perez all finished with two runners driven in.
