Hawks Hall of Fame

The University of Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks Athletic Hall of Fame was established to recognize the outstanding athletic achievements of student-athletes, coaches and contributors.

Qualifications for induction are as follows:
- An athlete (male or female) should have played a minimum of two seasons of competiton while attending UMES.
- An athlete should have be least five years removed from their last date of attending UMES prior to being nominated.
- A coach or athletic administrator should have served on the UMES staff for a minimum of five years. The record of nominee should be so outstanding that there is no question as to qualification for the Hall of Fame. The individual has displayed and maintained tremendous dedication and support to the success of Hawk athletics.
- Must maintain a positive representation of one's self as well as the university during and after time spent at institution.

Nominations may be made by UMES alumni, faculty, staff, students, media members or the general public. Only nominations received by the annual meeting of the Hall of Fame committee will be considered for the current year, but nominations may be made at any time.

Selection for induction will be from among qualified nominees each year. Incomplete nomination submissions will not be considered in the voting process. Selection to the Hall of Fame will be made based on the vote of the Hawk Athletic Hall of Fame Voting Committee as appointed by the Hawk Department of Athletics.

The committee may seek additional information on nominees by contacting former coaches and alumni and/or by consulting available records. Induction for the Hall of Fame will be conducted in conjunction with the Homecoming Celebration on a bi-annual basis.

You must provide photographs, online articles, newspaper clippings, and other documents (copies acceptable) to support your nomination. Materials will be used by the committee in the selection process. If nominee is selected, please be aware that UMES will contact the selected individual for a complete biography (if not already provided).
