By the age of 17, Dukes held a USA Junior Olympic Level I (1998) and a USA Bowling Silver Level (2000) coaching certification. He is the first individual in the United States Olympic Committee to hold these certifications at such a young age. Named to the Top 100 Coaches list by Bowlers Journal International in 2012 -- the only collegiate assistant coach named to the list. Coached eight years as an assistant for Maryland Eastern Shore winning four National Championships (2008, 2011, 2012 NCAA and 2011 USBC) and four MEAC Conference Championships.

In 2004, he helped guide the Lady Hawks to the first ever NCAA Championship appearance, where The Shore finished seventh. Dukes played a vital role in increasing player awareness and lane playability when it comes to game-day athletic performance. Maryland Eastern Shore and MEAC Hall of Famer Sharon Brummell gives Dukes much of the credit for developing the National Championship program.
