Jennings earned three game wins this past Friday and one on Sunday

TENNIS ENJOYS FINEST PERFORMANCE VERSUS BOWIE STATE

BOWIE, Md. and PRINCESS ANNE, Md. - The women's tennis team turned in their best performance this season overall between singles and doubles in a Friday matchup versus the Bowie State Bulldogs. Although no Hawks ended up winning their matches, all four singles players and doubles pairs earned game wins and three matches were forced into extra play to decide a winner.

Senior Reine Fowajuh (Wilmington, Del.) earned four game wins in a singles match as a No. 1 and junior Jasmine Jennings (Baltimore, Md.), playing in the No. 2 position, earned three game wins. The same players also earned two wins playing in the No. 1 doubles pair.

Juniors Petra Jerabkova (Prague, Czech Republic) and Aleksandra Manolova (Sofia, Bulgaria), who played at the third and fourth position in singles, respectively, both forced extra time in their second games. Jerabkova fell just short of forcing a third set with a final of 2-6 and 5-7 while Manolova finished with a final of 4-6, 6-8. The pair also forced a second set in their doubles match with a final of 8-8, 4-7.

In the team's final home matchup versus North Carolina A&T, both Jennings and Jerabkova earned one point in the singles matchup, and the duo of Jerabkova and Manolova also earned a point in the doubles competition.

The team will play its final match of the season at Stevenson on April 22nd.
