Princess Anne, Maryland – September 10, 2026 – University of Maryland Eastern Shore student-athletes Rihanna Gayle of cross country and track and field and Baylei Sandford of women's golf have been selected to participate in the 2026 NCAA Legacy Lab. The four-day workshop will take place September 10-13 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The NCAA Legacy Lab is a professional development program designed for sophomore and junior student-athletes interested in entrepreneurship and preparing for opportunities beyond college athletics. The program provides participants with interactive workshops, mentorship and opportunities to explore areas such as name, image and likeness (NIL), business development and socially responsible entrepreneurship.

Gayle, a junior, and Sandford, a sophomore, will have the opportunity to connect with fellow student-athletes and mentors while developing skills that can assist them in their future careers and entrepreneurial pursuits.

As selected participants, Gayle and Sandford will have their travel, lodging, meals and program materials covered by the NCAA throughout the four-day experience.

Both student-athletes will represent Maryland Eastern Shore at the Legacy Lab beginning Thursday, September 10, with the program concluding Sunday, September 13.
