Hawks Shine in the Penn Relays

Men and Women Win Section in Sprint Medley Relay

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's and women's outdoor track teams had representatives compete and win at the Penn Relays this weekend (April 25-27) at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.

Christina Cropper, Naomi English, Arianna Krcik and Neus Quinonero combined to win the second section of the sprint medley relay. The race was comprised of two 200 meter legs, a 400 meter leg and concluded with an 800 meter finish. The Hawks posted a time of 4:05.84. Eastern Shore's sprint medley relay on the men's side - Janoi Brown, Jaylin Nelson, Jonathan Robertson and Duvaire Wauchope would also won their section with a time of 3:31.73.

All of the athletes that competed in the relays received an individual medal and a take of a Penn Relays Plaque. The plaque is considered one of the most prestigious awards in track and field.

The Shore look to build on their strong performance as they prepare for the MEAC Championship next weekend (May 2-4) at BB&T Stadium in Greensboro, NC.
