Hawks continue to make progress in fall season

Hawks continue improvement as fall competition continues


GREENVILLE, North Carolina | The University of Maryland Eastern Shore men's golf team combined to shoot its lowest team score of the season during the East Carolina University Ironwood Classic earlier this week.


UMES combined for team scores of 297, 298 and 303 for a three round total of 898 while playing on the Ironwood Country Club. 


The Hawks were paced by freshman Andreas Roman and sophomore Max Osten. Roman recorded scores of 74, 73 and 76 for a tournament total of 223. Osten also finished with a 223 total highlighted with a round of 72 sandwiched by scores of 77 and 74. Senior Pedro Marchioni had the team tournament low round of 70 to open up play followed by rounds of 77 and 81 for a 228 total. Freshman Marcos Ramirez also came in with a final count of 228 which included three rounds of 76. Emil Liddell shot rounds of 84, 80 and 77 for a stroke totoal of 241.


The Hawks will conclude fall competition at the Old Dominion University OBX Intercollegiate in Powells Point, North Carolina on October 26.
